Any Basketball fans out there? Nope, well too bad I’m going to make some quirky comments about the NBA draft that occurred on Thursday, anyway.<br /><br />The number one pick was Memphis Point Guard Derrick Rose. He is going to his hometown of Chicago. The Chicago Bulls unexpectedly won the NBA Draft Lottery, even though they only had a 3% chance of winning it. This thing is totally not rigged! NO HWAY!<br /><br />Michael Beasley is taken at #2 by the Miami Heat. No surprise there. He averaged 26 points and 12 boards for Kansas State University. He put K-State on the Map, but ironically enough, their instate rival Kansas wound up winning the National Championship. Go figure?<br /><br />Moving forward to the #5 pick, Memphis chooses undersized UCLA Center Kevin Love. Setting up the devastating 1-2 punch of Rudy Gay and Kevin Love. Get it? <strong>Gay-Love</strong>. For those of you who have not read the "New Trains, Decrepit Stations" post, I'll sum it up for you. The MTA bought new trains for the New York City subway system, while the stations here in New York City, look like outhouses for bums. And i had called them out on it saying that the MTA is always misappropriating funds on stupid things. So today on the news, they had a story on how the MTA is looking to slash $2.5 Million dollars off their budget (probably because of buying all those new trains) and it has two options. The first option which is probably the more obvious one for you to guess, is to raise fares once again. And option two (which is the option they are most likely going to run with, because at this point they probably realize that no one wants to hear another story about rising prices) is to abandon 18 station renovation projects. It doesn't seem reasonable paying more than $2.50 to stand in urine while the smell of ammonia burns up your nostrils as if you were working in a pig pen at you local farm. In fact the farm would pay you, you wouldn't have to pay them $2.50 to stand in filth. And I would like to ask our readers to comment and let us know what conditions you local train stations are in (Londoners need not to chime in, I am quite familiar with the station conditions in your area, thumbs up!) Oh yea, and how about getting one of those countdown clocks that counts down (to the second) when the next arriving train should be expected (that is in every station) that the British have in London, here in New York.

And if you haven't, then you are not living on the edge like us, the cool kids. In any event and I am planning to get right to the point here, so here it goes. The N.Y.P.D. is often tardy in sending license suspension notices to drivers. My friend had been pulled over again today, unknowingly driving with a suspended license. It would be nice to know if your license is suspended before hand so you stay off the road. However it seems to me the N.Y.P.D. and the D.M.V don't do their fucking job. I bet if we replaced everyone who is responsible for mailing out these notices in New York city, with monkeys on typewriters, the whole system would be a lot more efficient. Their whole notification system is at best random. For a city that is considered to be the capital of the world this shit is ridiculous. Hardworking people (and taxpayers) are getting punished for the city's clerical mistakes and this shit needs to come to an end. This whole system needs an overhaul. Here are a few steps they can take but won't, to improve this situation...<br /><br />1. Replace people with monkeys. The whole system will be a lot more efficient.<br /><br />2. Set-Up a system with different levels of severity for suspensions. I am aware that this post is a few weeks late because the Stanley Cup Finals ended a few weeks ago and most people have moved on to other things. But, there is a method to my madness and since the final Nielsen ratings for the Stanley Cup Finals recently came out, I would like to address something Mr. Tiger Woods recently said.<br />At a press conference a few weeks ago, a reporter asked Tiger, who he was rooting for in the Stanley Cup finals and this was his response:<br />"I don't really care...I don't think anybody really watches hockey anymore."<br /><object height="344" width="425"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/4f9hfH_zGKE&hl=en"><br /><br /><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/4f9hfH_zGKE&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" height="344" width="425"></embed></object><br />Who does Tiger think he is, The King of Sports Media? In order to prove this, lets take a look at the ratings from the Stanley Cup finals.<br />Game 5 of the Finals, a triple overtime thriller did a 3.8 rating with a 7 share. That is roughly 6.25 million viewers, plus an additional 3.4 million households in Canada tuned in as well. Not too shabby, for a sport that was left for dead just a few years ago. As for game 6, when the Red Wings clinched the Cup over the Penguins, the ratings were even higher. In fact, in the state of Michigan 45% of all households tuned into the game. BOOYA!<br />As for golf, people are not tuning to watch golf they are tuning in to watch Tiger pretend to be a real athlete. Ratings for the recent Memorial tournament, which Woods missed, plunged 31 percent from last year. If Tiger ain't playing then no one is watching. Plus, since when is golf even a sport? Since when is a recreational activity that requires no Athletic ability, agility or stamina considered a sport. All that you need to be a golfer is the ability to walk and good concentration. If that was a criteria for a sport then we would have competitive furniture moving. In fact, you would probably exert more energy moving furniture. GOLF is NOT a SPORT! Golf is what real athletes do in the off season in order to relax and get some fresh air. It was used to make food, rope, clothing, fuel, Soap, Insulation, Biodegradable plastic and Paper for most of recorded history. In fact, the first Canvas bags were made solely out of hemp, the word Canvas is derived from Cannabis. You guys see the similarity? I certainly hope so.<br />Hemp use dates back to the Stone Age<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">, with hemp fiber imprints found in pottery shards in </span><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">China</span><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"> and </span><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Taiwan</span><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"> over 10,000 years old. The First United States flag was sewn from Hemp and the first US Constitution was written on Hemp paper.<br />Here is a look at the role Hemp played during the early years of the United States:<br /><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><br />Major General, George Washington, hero and first president of the United States, cultivated hemp as a crop on his farm Thomas Jefferson</span><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"> the principal author of the American Declaration of independence </span><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">which he drafted on hemp paper, was the third president of the United States. He cultivated hemp as a crop as well.</span> Benjamin Franklin<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"> started the first American paper mill,</span><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"> which made paper exclusively from hemp.<br /></span><br />Hemp played a huge role in World War two as well. Uniforms, canvas, and rope were among the main textiles created from the hemp plant at this time. Much of the hemp used was planted in Kentucky, Wisconsin and various places throughout the Midwest. But, the US government now treats it as an evil pariah. Hypocrisy at its BEST! It is interesting to note that the United States is the only country in the whole world where hemp is outlawed. The reason it is outlawed is simply preposterous. The DEA argues that since it has trace amounts of THC, thus making it a controlled substance. Experts in the field, however, know this is bullshit because that trace amount is less than 0.3%. not enough to get someone high, even if they smoked a whole acre of it. Most of the marijuana that is consumed for recreational or medicinal purposes has somewhere between 10% and 24% THC Content. Depending on how good your stash is. The DEA also argued that if Hemp was legalized people would try to grow Marijuana in the hemp fields. This demonstrates how utterly stupid the DEA is, if someone were to plant regular Cannabis Sativa in a Hemp field, the two plants would cross pollinate rendering the Sativa strain useless because it would not be able to get enough nutrients to survive. Hiding marijuana in a hemp field would create a variety of problems. One is, the dense hemp would most likely "choke out" the marijuana, taking valuable and necessary nutrients and sunlight that the marijuana needs to produce THC. Even more, the male hemp plants would fertilize the marijuana plants, which would have several side effects. First, the marijuana would produce seeds, quickly lowering its value. Energy growing seeds quickly diminishes THC content. More importantly, the fertilization essentially crossbreeds the hemp and marijuana. While the hemp will not produce any more THC, the marijuana, which was tainted by the Hemp, will produce significantly less THC. If marijuana was successfully hidden and grown in a hemp field, the resulting plant matter would be of very little street value. It would be full of seeds and stems (because of fertilization), be malnourished (because hemp, like a strong weed, sucks up nutrients and grows taller, taking the available sun), and above all, have a very low THC content, making it undesirable to even the indiscriminate marijuana users. This demonstrates that the DEA is stupid and ignorant because they don’t even research the results of what they are warning the courts about. Dee Tee Dee!<br />Thankfully, there are some judges with common sense in this country and as of a few years ago, products containing THC are now allowed to be sold in stores. Lets take a look at how the DEA was bitch-slaped for being a bunch fools:<br /><br /><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">On February 6, </span><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">2004, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals issued a unanimous decision in favor of the HIA (hemp Industries of America) in which Judge Betty Fletcher wrote, "The DEA cannot regulate naturally-occurring THC not contained within or derived from marijuana-i.e. non-psychoactive hemp is not included in Schedule I. The DEA has no authority to regulate drugs that are not scheduled, and it has not followed procedures required to schedule a substance. The DEA's definition of "THC" contravenes the unambiguously expressed intent of Congress in the Controlled Substances Act </span><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">(CSA) and cannot be upheld."<br /></span>I applaud Judge Fletcher for standing up to the bullies in the DEA, I would not be surprised if she got fired or killed. The DEA is that ruthless.<br /><br />Anyhow, lets move on to the problem at hand, the Energy Crisis that looms over America. Even if more offshore drilling is approved, it still only a temporary solution and it still does significant damage to the environment. We cannot rely on oil for the rest of this century, because even the Middle East will eventually run dry. We need an alternative fuel source which is renewable, doesn’t damage the environment and is easy to produce. Hemp can be used as fuel and it is very effective as a fuel source. Hemp produces more energy per acre per year than corn, sugar, flax, or any other crop currently grown for ethanol or bio diesel. That is saying a lot because Brazil is currently using Sugar cane as an alternative every source and it is very effective. Brazil has drastically cut down its need for importing fuel because locally grown sugar cane takes care of a large portion of their fuel needs. Hemp can basically grow anywhere in the world, even cold climates. It does very little damage to the soil that it grows in and in fact, some say that mulch made out of hemp is actually beneficial to the soil. Hemp produces a higher than average amount of oxygen when compared to most plants. Hemp can be grown free of pesticides and other chemicals because bugs are not really attracted to the plant. Hemp plants take roughly four months to mature as apposed to trees, which usually take 20 years to fully mature. Hemp is more potent as a fuel than any other naturally occurring substance, as far as we know besides Oil. Hemp can also stem the growing global food shortage that is affecting many third world countries. Hemp can be used in a variety of foods and can also help people who are allergic to such substances as Lactose, Wheat or Peanuts.<br />Hemp seeds contains beneficial omega fatty acids, amino acids, and minerals. The seeds can be eaten raw, ground into a meal, sprouted, made into milk, prepared as tea, and used in <span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">baking. The fresh leaves can also be eaten in salads. Products include cereals, frozen waffles, </span><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">hemp tofu and butters. Hemp seed also contains 20% complete and highly-digestible protein </span><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">Cold</span>-pressed hemp seed oil is nutritionally superior to olive or flax oil, and so, makes a great alternative in salads, smoothies, and other non-frying uses. Since I am not a food critic, I’ll leave it to the experts but from what I understand Hemp Milk tastes better than Soy Milk or Rice Milk and it doesn’t contain any unwanted estrogen. That sounds like an all around winner to me. Plus, the hemp food industry has grown 300% in the last year. If only American farmers were able to benefit from this growth. Instead farmers in North Dakota sit in fear of the DEA destroying their crops, even though the state legislature allowed them to grow it and issued permits to farmers who applied for them. There a lot of moaning and groaning going on in the States about the current condition of the price of gasoline. If you keep in mind that in the UK they are paying what would equate to $9 per gallon and in Turkey to $11 per gallon, the American situation does not seem as bad. (To our readers overseas drop us a comment and let us know what your prices are like.) So for the second day in a row gas prices reportedly dropped and there is some speculation about what this means. In lue of the gas price trends of previous years, and the fact that overall it went up 7.4% since last month, the only conclusion that I can draw from this is that this means nothing. In fact the average price of gasoline in America went from $4.080 to $4.075 per gallon in the last two days (diesel only one tenth of a cent, that's $.001) Holy shit! That a savings (if the price was at a plateau) of a half a cent, which in a year would probably equate to what? I'm not gonna put in the work to do this calculation because everyone's driving habits are different but I would have to assume it would be a around fucking dollar or two, give or take, so.. Bush also renewed his demand that Congress allow drilling in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, or ANWR, clear the way for more refineries and encourage efforts to recover oil from shale in areas such as the Green River Basin of Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. But how can you be surprised? The Bush administration seems to be good at fucking up things that never needed to be fucked with in the first place. The administration also claims that oil drilling projects manned by Cuba with support from china (oil reserves that stretch from Cuba to Florida), very possibly might begin in the next few years and that we should not let them dip their fingers into our honey. That (one of the few things this administration peddled) I can agree with. It's a little unnerving having an economic steroid growth machine like China investing in their interests off our shores. Everyone know this can be a lot worse. A lot of people are complaining that driving is getting too expensive and/or that some people are not able to afford something that they once took for granted. Those are the same people that move slow on the highways because they are scared shitless of having to pay a speeding ticket. The solution is simple, if you don't like the price, take the fucking bus. One less driver on the road and one step closer to a cleaner planet. If the Bush administration put as much time, money and effort into renewable energy as they did into pointless wars we would be better off. Instead they treat renewable energy like the hunt for Bin Laden... [fart sound]

Sounds expensive doesn't it? They even got the Department of Defense in on it, all to intercept and seize some smoke! I'll be honest here, every time someone says drugs and Afghanistan in the same sentence people immediately think of Poppy plants and Heroin. If you Californians want to legalize something again then go all the way with it. You're either on one side or the other. Yes or No. But it seems that California is running with some kind of "maybe legal" scenario. No wonder even Californians are too fucking confused to know whether it's legal or not and give me conflicting information about the topic (or it could be the pot). WHY! WHY! Why do you have to seize the damn Hashy's Chocolate Bars! .. DAMN! For Christ's sake, the pharmaceuticals continue to make their synthetic opiates legally. They make them available, get people hooked and leave them with little hope and minimal motivation to quit using their vile products. And all it takes to get hooked to an opioid is one prescription from the doctor or hospital. The reason why harmless recreational drugs are still illegal is because these fucking pharmaceuticals want you to buy their pills and get high on THEIR product. Same thing with the alcohol companies. Fucking hypocritical pricks!

It's just F'ing water !!!

It's ace!) drinking my tea, when the water delivery guy busts through the door unannounced with two bottles of Maine's finest on his shoulders. The man was getting ready to refill the poor excuse for a water fountain, water cooler rather, that we have here, that I assume livestock would avoid if given the opportunity to indulge in it's watery goodness. No one here is really into Hydrogen Dioxidal hygiene, especially around the water cooler area (The thing resembles the outside bottom part of an oven door after cooking a massive Thanksgiving meal, mixed with sticky movie theater floor.) But anyways, the water boy walks in and asks "Which y'all want? Uhhh, Deer Park or... Poland Spring?" And I'm sitting here thinking this idiot himself just sprung out of Poland. (Ooh, a Poland joke. Sue me) Does it make a fucking a difference which water goes in the fucking cooler? It's WATER! Just put in the cheapest bottle in the damn fountain and fuck off. Why do they feel the need to ask these dumb ass questions? To feel more important I suppose, there's nothing better when the company you work makes you feel like your job is important. But with that said, you're not working in a computer store jackass! If you were fixing a computer here, then it would make a difference whether its one or the other, Vista or XP, paper or plastic, papers or blunts, beer or liquor, YouTube or Flickr. But it's not, its just fucking water. But I guess they have to ask because they themselves aren't sure about the question (You know, because THEY DELIVER FUCKING WATER for a living!) which water would be better for our cooler. The US is full self-righteous pricks who don't want to see one of their own make it. Trust me, I have asked around.
