"A high-ranking Iranian diplomat has refuted today as a blatant lie several foreign media reports stating that Iranian forces have arrived to Syria to participate in ground operations," the agency noted.<br />

Hundreds of Iranian troops have arrived in Syria to join a major ground offensive on behalf of President Bashar al-Assad's government, Lebanese sources said on Thursday, a further step in the rapid internationalization of a civil war in which every major country in the region has a stake.<br />

Russian warplanes that joined the fight this week bombed a camp run by rebels trained by the CIA, the group's commander said, putting Moscow and Washington on opposing sides in a Middle East conflict for the first time since the Cold War.<br />
<br />
The U.S. and Russian militaries will hold talks at 11 a.m. EDT via video link to seek ways to keep their militaries apart as they wage parallel campaigns of air strikes in Syria, a U.S. defense official said.<br />
<br />
Russian jets struck targets near the cities of Hama and Homs in western Syria on the second day of their surprise air campaign.<br />
<br />
Moscow said it had hit Islamic State positions, but the areas it struck are mostly held by a rival insurgent alliance, which unlike Islamic State is supported by U.S. allies including Arab states and Turkey.<br />
<br />
Hassan Haj Ali, head of the Liwa Suqour al-Jabal rebel group, told Reuters one of the targets was his group's base in Idlib province, struck by around 20 missiles in two separate sorties. His fighters had been trained by the CIA in Qatar and Saudi Arabia, part of a program Washington says is aimed at supporting groups that oppose both Islamic State and Assad.<br />
<br />
"Russia is challenging everyone and saying there is no alternative to Bashar," Haj Ali said. He said the Russian jets had been identified by members of his group who once served as Syrian air force pilots.<br />
<br />
Two Lebanese sources told Reuters hundreds of Iranian troops had reached Syria in the past 10 days with weapons to mount a major ground offensive. They would also be backed by Assad's Lebanese Hezbollah allies and by Shi'ite militia fighters from Iraq, while the Russians would provide air support.<br />
<br />
"The vanguard of Iranian ground forces began arriving in Syria: soldiers and officers specifically to participate in this battle. They are not advisers ... we mean hundreds with equipment and weapons. They will be followed by more," one of the sources said.<br />
<br />
SAME ENEMIES, DIFFERENT FRIENDS<br />
<br />
Russia's sudden decision to join the war with air strikes on behalf of Assad, as well as the increased military involvement of Iran, could mark a pivotal turning point in a conflict that has drawn in most of the world's military powers.<br />
<br />
With the United States leading an alliance waging its own air war against Islamic State fighters, the Cold War superpower foes, Washington and Moscow, are now engaged in combat over the same country for the first time since World War Two.<br />
<br />
They say they have the same enemies - the Islamic State group of Sunni Muslim militants who have proclaimed a caliphate across eastern Syria and northern Iraq.<br />
<br />
But they also have very different friends, and sharply opposing views of how to resolve the 4-year-old Syrian civil war, which has killed more than 250,000 people and driven more than 10 million from their homes.<br />
<br />
Washington and its allies oppose both Islamic State and Assad, believing he must leave power in any peace settlement.<br />
<br />
Washington says a central part of its strategy is building "moderate" insurgents to fight against both Assad and Islamic State, although so far it has struggled to find many fighters to accept its training.<br />
<br />
Moscow supports the Syrian president and believes his government should be the centerpiece of international efforts to fight extremist groups.<br />
<br />
It appears to be using the common campaign against Islamic State as a pretext to strike against groups supported by Washington and its allies, as a way of defending a Damascus government with which Moscow has been allied since the Cold War.<br />
<br />
The Russian strikes represent a bold move by President Vladimir Putin to assert influence beyond his own neighborhood: it is the first time Moscow has ordered its forces into combat outside the frontiers of the former Soviet Union since its disastrous Afghanistan campaign in the 1980s.<br />
<br />
GAME CHANGER<br />
<br />
In the second day of strikes, Russia said it launched eight sorties with Sukhoi warplanes overnight, hitting four Islamic State targets. However, none of the areas where it said the strikes took place is held by Islamic State.<br />
<br />
Al-Mayadeen, a pro-Damascus television channel based in Lebanon, said the jets carried out at least 30 strikes against an insurgent alliance known as the Army of Conquest. The alliance includes the Nusra Front, al Qaeda's Syrian branch, but not Islamic State.<br />
<br />
The Russian and Iranian intervention in support of Assad comes at a time when momentum in the conflict had swung against his government and seem aimed at reversing insurgent gains.<br />
<br />
"The Russian strikes are a game changer. Damascus is off the hook," a diplomat tracking Syria said.<br />
<br />
The Army of Conquest in particular has been advancing against government forces in northwestern Syria, supported by regional countries that oppose both Assad and Islamic State.<br />
<br />
Russia says its air strikes, unlike Washington's, are legitimate because they have Assad's blessing, and more effective because they can coordinate with government forces to find targets.<br />
<br />
Russia's defense ministry said Sukhoi-24M and Sukhoi-25 aircraft had hit an ammunition depot near Idlib, a three-storey Islamic State command center near Hama and a car bomb factory in the north of Homs. Islamic State does not have a major presence in Hama or Homs.<br />
<br />
The Lebanese news channel said the Russian planes bombed rural areas near the northwestern town of Jisr al-Shughour, which is held by the Army of Conquest. Strikes also hit other areas in Idlib province, including the Zawiya Mountain region, as well as areas in Hama province to the south.<br />
<br />
The anti-Assad Orient News channel also said Russian strikes had hit rebel positions in the Hama countryside.<br />
<br />
Insurgent-held Idlib province is of particular strategic importance to the Syrian government because it is close to Assad's heartland on the Mediterranean coast, where Russia also has its only Mediterranean naval base.<br />
<br />
A Syrian military source said on Thursday that Russian military support would bring a "big change" in the course of the conflict, particularly through advanced surveillance capabilities that could pinpoint insurgent targets.<br />

Iran has discovered a large reserve of uranium and is going to start extracting the radioactive element soon, the head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization said on Saturday. "The important thing is that before aerial prospecting for uranium ores we were not too optimistic, but the new discoveries have made us confident about our reserves," Iranian nuclear chief Ali Akbar Salehi said, adding that uranium exploration had covered about two-thirds of the country and would be complete in the next four years, the IRNA state news agency reports. The discovery comes just two months after Iran and six world powers signed a nuclear deal and may change previous assessments that Iran will need to import uranium because of low supplies.<br />

As the White House secured their last needed vote to block a veto override in the Senate on the nuclear deal, Iran unleashed a double-pronged attack: vowing to block inspector access to some sites, and vowing to continue preparations to destroy Israel.<br />

Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan said today that the International Atomic Energy Agency — which inked confidential deals with Tehran that Congress has not been able to see — would not be able to see all the facilities it wants to.<br />
<br />
“Iran does not plan to issue permission for the IAEA to inspect every site,” Dehqan said in an interview with al-Mayadeen news network on Wednesday, reported the semi-official Fars News Agency.<br />
<br />
Back in July, he stressed that “missile-related issues have never been on agenda of the nuclear talks and the Islamic system will resolutely implement its programs in this field.”<br />
<br />
“The US officials make boastful remarks and imagine that they can impose anything on the Iranian nation because they lack a proper knowledge of the Iranian nation.”<br />
<br />
Also today, a senior commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps said they have work to do.<br />
<br />
The IRGC’s top commander in Tehran province, Brigadier General Mohsen Kazzemeini, told operating units undergoing drills in the capital that “they (the US and the Zionists) should know that the Islamic Revolution will continue enhancing its preparedness until it overthrows Israel and liberates Palestine,” according to Fars.<br />
<br />
“And we will continue defending not just our own country, but also all the oppressed people of the world, specially those countries that are standing on the forefront of confrontation with the Zionists,” Kazzemeini said.<br />
<br />
Iran’s Press TV mused that “questions remain on how far Tel Aviv would really go, with its warmongering premier Benjamin Netanyahu, to disrupt the accord,” rhetoric that’s potentially setting the stage for an attack on Israel that they’d call defensive.<br />

Iran’s supreme leader claimed Saturday that Islamic nations were being manipulated into internal strife by the world’s “bullies” and urged Islamic unity in the face of what he identified as the Umma’s two greatest enemies: the US and Israel. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said the US had long sought to incite “third-party” states against Iran but “such third parties are only deceived puppets,” the Islamic republic’s Fars news agency reported. "The root cause of the problems returns to their real enemies, the US and Israel,” he said. The bullying powers, as he called them, are conspiring “against the Quran and not Shiism and Iran, because they know that the Quran and Islam are the center of awakening nations.” Iranians, he said, “have realized that their real stubborn enemy is the world arrogance and Zionism and that’s why they chant slogans against the US and Zionism.” Khamenei was speaking to Iranian officials in charge of the Hajj — the annual pilgrimage to Mecca that Muslims from all over the world undertake. He explained to them that the pilgrimage to Mecca was a prime opportunity for Iranians to convey their aforementioned insights to other Muslims and thus encourage Islamic unity against its true enemies.

Since The character of "ayatollah" in the movie is based on an Iranian Wrestler from the 80's who performed the camel clutch, Its pretty safe to say that "Ayatollah" is based on the Iron Sheik, who we witnessed earlier and by the way that outburst was not an isolated incident. So, it seems to me that Darren Aranofsky, the same guy who brought us <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Requiem_for_a_Dream">Requiem For a Dream</a>, had to TONE it down a little. Not good enough for Iran.<br />Anywho, This is not the first time. Iran also had beef with "300" and "Alexander." Both Epic films about great bygone eras. "The Wrestler" on the other hand is about a washed up 80's Pro wrestler from New Jersey who is dating a stripper. I guess the only reason Iran is pissed is because The Iranian Wrestler in question was played by an American, <a href="http://www.losrudos.com/aem0.jpg">Earnest "the cat" Miller</a>. Problem Solved, Hollywood, please cast nationalities appropriately. We will all be better for it.

That sort of narrow range would get you just about to Istanbul; there's certainly no argument that bit of Turkey is in Europe, that's about 1,400 kilometers from just inside the Iranian border. If you move to the longer-range figure (1,800 kilometers), then you get more cities of East Europe starting to come into range. Eighteen hundred [kilometers] will give you Iran to Kyiv, just about Iran to Athens, I suspect, Iran to Bucharest." One Iranian Revolutionary Guard (their little dumb ass military) spokesperson Ali Shirazi was quoted saying "The Zionist regime is pushing the White House to prepare for a military strike on Iran," Shirazi was also quoted as saying. "If such a stupidity is done by them, Tel Aviv and the U.S. naval fleet in the Persian Gulf will be the first targets which will be set on fire in Iran's crushing response." I don't know if they got the memo but they will be going up against the most efficient war machine of our time, the Jews. Let's face the facts here, Iran is really not ready for to fend itself off against the US. And for them to strike anything in the Gulf that is even closely associated with the US would be a sign of blithering idiocy. Lets take a look at air superiority capabilities between the three sides. Lets first take a look at American Air Force Technology. The Lockheed Martin/Boeing F-22 Raptor is a fighter aircraft that uses stealth technology. It is primarily an air superiority fighter, but has multiple capabilities that include ground attack, electronic warfare, and signals intelligence roles. The United States Air Force considers the F-22 a critical component of the U.S. strike force.The F-22 is claimed by multiple sources to be the world’s most <a href="http://home.pon.net/hunnicutt/images/F22.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://home.pon.net/hunnicutt/images/F22.jpg" style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 200px;" /></a>effective air superiority fighter. The US Air Force states that the F-22 cannot be matched by any known or projected fighter aircraft. The F22 is capable of Mach 1.75 in supercruise mode. The F22 also has mid air refueling capabilities and carries a deadly arsenal of the newest "smart weapons" stored internally to maintain its low radar cross section. To make a long story short, you can't shoot down what you can't see and if you can see it, you can't get missile lock on it. A single F22 can take on up seven or more F16's with minimal effort. Now like every country they will have numerous aircraft in service so I will only write about their most commonly used ones. The aircraft in the photo to the left is Iranian built HESA Azarakhsh (which in Persian translates to Lightning). It capabilities are to fly and miss all their shots. The Iranians are a crafty bunch wouldn't you say? Hey there's a new blog post right there, "Those crafty Iranians" about Iran's innovative <a href="http://static.zooomr.com/images/3141432_73f2c9b78e.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://static.zooomr.com/images/3141432_73f2c9b78e.jpg" style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 200px;" /></a>technology market (yes, it was sarcasm.) Moving on. The Iranians also have 29 F4 Phantoms (yes, wow, we haven't used those since Vietnam) and 35 Russian built MiG 29's. But the aircraft model they most commonly use is the American built Northrop F5 Freedom Fighter (pic left). Plus 79 F14's that America sold them before 1979. So it seems we'll be doing most of the fighting against our own aircraft from the 60's and 70's. We're just shaking in our boots now. Oh no!<br />Snapple Fact: Did you know that America sells $14 million dollars worth of bull semen to Iran each year. Deadly, no. It's the Russian built MiG 29. An aircraft that has been around since 1977. All jokes aside however, rumors have been surfacing about an arms deal between the Iranians and Russia. The arms deal is a purchase, by Iran, from Russia, a total of 250 Su-37 Flankers  (blue and yellow aircraft in the two photos to the left)(in case you wondering the black one is the new Su-47). 250 Su-37's would make formidable opponents in a <a href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/ba/Su37_02.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/ba/Su37_02.jpg" style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 200px;" /></a>retaliatory attack of that nature, that is, if this arms deal goes through.) Additionally, the Su-37 incorporates the AL-37FU engines equipped with thrust vectoring. The Su-37’s nozzles are variable in pitch only, but unlike the F22 Raptor they can be operated differentially to provide a rolling movement. Also unlike the F22 Raptor this plane has no stealth  technologies. Let's take a look at a some hypothetical air combat scenarios that might play out. For example, Israel launches a secret strike on Iranian nuclear installations. Now at this point lets say that Ahmadinejad launches an air strike on Israel (Now also at this point the Hezzbollah would also probably fire a whole bunch of those bullshit Katyusha rockets across the border, they do it like rocketry is their hobby or something.) Israel would probably already be expecting such a retaliatory attack. Israel has an Air Arsenal of 72 F15 Eagles and an additional 25 of the F15 Strike <a href="http://www.darkgovernment.com/images/IAF.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" src="http://www.darkgovernment.com/images/IAF.jpg" style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 200px;" /></a>Eagle variant. Their Air Force also comprises of more than 300 F16 Fighting Falcons in three different variants (But we only know what they tell us.) So when Iran, does send its Vietnam War Era Phantom F4's and it's minuscule fleet of MiG 29's, it will be, how Borat would say, a not great success against the Jew for Iran. The Jew come with the claw bitch! Let's say America aided in this operation and they go after a warship in the gulf. They'd be finished before they find the ship. I can't really think of any viable scenarios that would play out as this overwhelming "crushing response" from Iran.
